Lake Orion High Class of 1963
Memories of James Brown
Jim was my brother. He was on the Varsity Football team, he was one of the guys that pushed down guys from the opposing team.
After graduation he went to Michigan State University to study Landscape Architecture. He met his wife Cory at MSU.
Jim and Cory were living in the suburbs of Seattle, WA when he became blind. Despite his blindness, caused from diabetes, he and Cory owned and operated a successful nursery (Wayfarer) in Seattle.
We lost Jim in 1978. He was 33.
Jim was a great brother and a self taught artist . . . Metal Sculpting, Water
Color and Pen and Ink were 3 of his favorite types of art. Some of his metal sculptures are in a park in Seattle that has an area for the Visually Impaired.
He is missed every day.
